Data attribution
Where fliq's maps and location data come from, and the acknowledgements their licences require us to print.
fliq shows where a property is using published UK location data and Ordnance Survey mapping. This page names every source, the licence it comes to us under, and the acknowledgement each licence asks us to print.
The notice under every map
This is the wording that appears wherever fliq draws a map or shows a location derived from a postcode:
Contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right 2026. Contains Royal Mail data © Royal Mail copyright and database right 2026. Source: Office for National Statistics licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Postcode lookups powered by postcodes.io.
Mapping
The maps are drawn from the OS Vector Tile API, on an OS OpenData plan, and rendered in your browser with MapLibre GL. The Ordnance Survey logo sits in the corner of every map window because the terms of that plan require it to.
Postcodes and locations
- Postcode data comes from the ONS Postcode Directory, which contains Royal Mail postcode data and Office for National Statistics data, published under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
- Postcode lookups are served by postcodes.io, an open service built on that same directory.
- Coverage is Great Britain. Northern Ireland postcodes are not supported: commercial use of that data requires a separate Land & Property Services licence, and we would rather say so than half-support a country.
What a map of a listing actually shows
A public listing map is centred on the postcode's centroid and draws an approximate area around it, never a marker on a front door. The exact position an advertiser may set is used for search accuracy and moderation only, and is never published.
